Karen Canning is a Mortgage Broker with TMG The Mortgage Group based out of Langley BC. There she lives with her husband, daughter, and lab retriever mix named Koda.

Karen has worked as a mortgage broker for more than 15 years helping hundreds of BC families create a financial game plan they can work with. Karen has a background in science, graduating from the University of Calgary in 1988, the year they hosted the Olympics. Shortly after graduating Karen realized that she was an entrepreneur at heart and decided to enter the world of financial planning with her husband, gaining her Certificate in Financial Planning in 2001.

In 2009 Karen took an opportunity to be the BC representative for a rapidly growing mortgage brokerage and never turned back. In 2010 she was named rookie of the year for Firstline Mortgages, the Mortgage arm of CIBC, recognized for her innovation and out performing competitors by building a strong industry.

Karen’s background in science and love of numbers combined with her financial planning experience affords her a unique perspective on the mortgage industry. '“Mortgages are not just rates, they’re one of the most important parts of your financial blueprint for managing cashflow. I have witnessed the ever increasing cost of living in BC and what that presents to families. I love analyzing the “math” and how families structure their mortgage and debt and find ways that will substantially improve their monthly cashflow.”
